The Problem
The CLIENT’s long operating hours and multiple work schedules requires a solid back office support in the area of HR administrative services. The highly critical tasks of timekeeping and payroll processing are important for the CLIENT to promote employee satisfaction within its large workforce. Achieving accuracy and timeliness in these areas while keeping HR costs at a minimum are the reasons why the CLIENT opted for outsourcing.
The Solution
The Challenge
PROPLE pitched for the CLIENT's Payroll requirements in early 2007 but lost to another provider. While the CLIENT transitioned into that outsourcing engagement, PROPLE focused its efforts in enhan- cing its web-based Integrated Payroll Platform and started developing the Timekeeping Module.
By late 2007, the CLIENT was burdened with the poor level of service from its existing provider and decided to approach PROPLE anew. This opened the door for the CLIENT and PROPLE to collaborate in ensuring better service delivery in line with the agreed levels of accuracy and timeliness. The solution included payroll processing, statutory reporting, tax annualization, and computation of final pay.
While testing was being done, PROPLE also provided flexibility in applying several customizations required by the CLIENT for the Payroll module. Within months of the engagement going live, PROPLE worked on the CLIENT' s Timekeeping requirement to integrate seamlessly into payroll processing.

The outsourcing partnership also helped deliver several benefits to the CLIENT through substantial savings from costs associated with maintaining 7 payroll processors and investment in infrastructure. As a result, the HR team was able to focus in doing higher value tasks such as recruitment, training and organizational development.
With PROPLE's web-based technology application (PATHS), the CLIENT now has a sound platform that will support future expansion.

Aside from the supermarket line, the CLIENT’s mother company (an IT delivery center) and their sister company (a top pharmaceutical retailer) have tapped PROPLE as well to support their payroll and timekeeping service needs.
